Jim Busciacco
Jim Busciacco came to Kelleher Associates in early 2006 after an extensive career in the financial services industry. It was his second experience with outplacement, which he initially approached somewhat reluctantly based on his prior experience. Jim shared his recent career transition experiences with us at the end of his second week in his new job as Small Business Loan Officer with TruMark Financial Credit Union.
Would you share your career background?
I started in banking right out of high school at Commonwealth Bank and worked my way through the ranks from accounting clerk to VP/Deposit and Check Services. At Fox Chase Bank I was elected as the interim COO while serving as Vice President of Operations and Quality Control. When it was time for me to move on, Fox Chase Bank engaged Kelleher Associates to help me in my career transition.
Was this your first time working with a career counseling service?
I had an earlier experience with an outplacement firm where I was placed in a workshop. It was your typical “canned” career counseling service.
Was your experience with Kelleher Associates different?
Kelleher Associates has a personal approach and in my particular case, Ed Kelleher, my coach, helped me assess what type of position would best fit my personality. Ed kept me focused and positive. He was always there for me, even offered his home phone number.
How did you find your new position?
Ed emphasized that most positions are found through networking – he was right.
I was contacted by a friend and former co-worker at TruMark. They had recently started a small business lending practice, and I was a perfect fit for the position of Small Business Loan Officer, where I utilize my operations skills, regulatory experience and people
Would you recommend Kelleher Associates?
I was very surprised by the personal attention and care that Kelleher Associates gave to me, and I would absolutely recommend Kelleher Associates. Ed Kelleher is an experienced career coach, outstanding mentor and friend. It was a great learning experience for me and I recommend Ed and his staff to others going through what can be a difficult process.
